New Release - Merlot Estate 2003

The dark ruby hues of this wine give hint to the rich aromas of blueberry, plum and tobacco. Flavors of dark chocolate, black cherry and smoke are balanced with soft integrated tannins. The finish is long and lingering with notes of smoke and spice. This wine will improve with age and will pair well with rich flavorful dishes such as steak, veal or chicken.

BIG NEWS! from Jamesport Vineyards:

In the June issue of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Jamesport Vineyards was reviewed as a "Winery to watch!" by David Schildknecht, Mr. Parker's tasting associate. Several wineries from Long Island were featured, although we were singled out as one of the top four in overall quality.

The Wine Advocate is generally recognized as the most prestigious and powerful wine publication in the world, using a rating system that is known to be used to by wineries around the world to help determine pricing, based on tasting notes and scores from this respected and knowledgeable publication.

Here at Jamesport Vineyards, this was an acknowledgement of what we already knew: that finally the quality and price of our wines is as good and fair as any other fine wine growing region in the world. Mr. Parker's review confirms this and certainly adds credibility and legitimacy to our appellation, the North Fork of Long Island, our backyard.

Cutchogue, making Jamesport Vineyards one of the North Fork's oldest vineyards. 60 acres of pristine
vineyards are located here. The majority of plantings include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and
Cabernet Franc.

Over the years, Jamesport Vineyards has focused and applied stringent viticultural practices in its vineyard.
Today, Jamesport Vineyards fruit quality has been revered as being some best in New York State...with
local and upstate wineries lining up to purchase grapes. Jamesport Vineyards is truly an estate winery.
All Jamesport Vineyards wines are produced using only highest quality fruit grown on the estate.

"Best Red Wine" for New York State, for their 2001 Cabernet Franc.

Ronald Goerler SR., acquired the 150-year-old barn that houses the winery and tasting room on Main road,
Jamesport in 1986. Drawing on his great Cutchogue fruit supply as well as the talents of his son, Ron Jr.,
he started Jamesport Vineyards in 1989. Since then, a lot has changed, both aesthetically and agriculturally.
The tasting room has increased in size with an enlarged tasting bar to accommodate a growing number of
